The Role:
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Leading a team of a compliance technologist and QA plus the hygiene function, ensuring all food safety, customer, and quality standards are maintained within the high care areas of the site.
2. Motivating and developing your team, by being visible in the factory, leading by example and providing ongoing coaching and mentoring.
3. As the 'go to' person for technical matters, working closely with other managers and teams across the site to ensure technical integrity and best practice.
4. Developing and instilling a culture of continuous improvement, proactively looking for more effective ways of working.
5. Coaching and developing your team, supporting them to ensure they're all equipped to work to the best of their ability.
6. Travel to suppliers and customers.
7. Submitting Specifications.
The Person:
1. Prior experience of working in a Technical or Quality leadership role in a chilled / high care food manufacturing environment.
2. Demonstrable experience and knowledge of retailer codes of practice.
3. Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and working to drive standards.
4. Strong leadership skills, able to coach and develop teams.
5. Highly organised, able to manage and prioritise a busy workload to meet deadlines.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to develop good working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
