This is a Part Time position working 30 hours over 4 days. The role will be at band 3 until completion of competencies.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Support Assistant within our Therapies team, you will work under the direction of a registered clinician, across the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), providing person centred support, care and treatment to patients with a life limiting illness, their families and carers in both group and individual situations.

CLINICAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT | Band 4 £25,417 - £27,596 per annum (pro rata)
Clinical Support Assistant duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Clinical Competency Development : Undertake training to gain skills in nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nutritional support, and lymphoedema care.
2. Holistic Patient Care: Conduct and contribute to comprehensive assessments of patients, families, and carers in various settings, ensuring their needs are central to care plans.
3. Patient-Centred Decision Making: Facilitate informed decision-making with patients and carers, particularly in creating Advance Care Plans.
4. Collaborative Teamwork: Work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), assisting clinicians in delivering tailored care, treatments, and activities to optimise patient wellbeing.
5. Effective Communication: Maintain clear and compassionate communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, respecting confidentiality at all times.
6. Outcome Measurement: Participate in the completion of outcome measures and accurately document results on SystmOne.
7. Supervised Patient Support: Assist in treatment sessions and provide regular feedback to clinicians, supporting the safe use of equipment and manual handling practices.
8. Incident Reporting: Ensure all incidents, accidents, and near misses are promptly reported and documented according to procedures.
9. Mentorship and Education: Support the education of patients, carers, and staff, and assist in the mentorship and supervision of students and volunteers.
10. Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of services through participation in clinical audits, quality assurance, and educational programmes.
