About the Role:
As the Residential Manager, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading a new team committed to supporting young people on their journeys. Your expertise will be crucial in reviewing and assessing referrals from the Local Authority, ensuring each young person receives tailored care that meets their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership & Development: Hire, train, and manage a dedicated team to provide exceptional care. Collaborate with senior management to foster a cohesive and supportive environment.
* Referral Review: Work closely with the Local Authority to assess and review referrals, ensuring young individuals are matched with the right care.
* Transition Support: Facilitate smooth transitions for young people entering the home by creating and implementing personalized care plans.
* Compliance & Audits: Conduct monthly audits and maintain meticulous records to ensure adherence to all regulatory standards.
* Team Communication: Promote open communication within your team through regular meetings and supervision, ensuring all members feel informed and supported.
* Staffing & Rotas: Manage the home’s rota system for consistent staffing, with schedules issued in advance.
* Regulatory Standards: Ensure all regulatory documentation is completed accurately and promptly.
* Professional Liaison: Attend professional meetings, maintaining high standards of communication with external stakeholders.
* Health & Safety: Ensure all health and safety requirements are met, creating a safe environment for both staff and young people.
* Safeguarding: Promptly report and record safeguarding concerns, prioritizing the well-being of young individuals and staff.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* NVQ Level 4 or 5 in Residential Child Care or equivalent is essential.
* Proven ability to independently lead a team while staying organized and on task.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and credibility.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and composure in stressful situations.
