Your new company
You will be working for a manufacturing organisation in Portsmouth in need of an Accounts Assistant on a 9-month FTC to cover a period of absence. They operate within the manufacturing and distribution industry and due to growth/restructuring, are seeking to add a finance professional to their small team.
Your new role
* Update financial spreadsheets daily with transactions.
* Record accounts payable and receivable.
* Track and reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy.
* Prepare detailed balance sheets.
* Assist with monthly payroll while keeping organised records.
* Create comprehensive cost analysis reports, including fixed and variable costs.
* Offer financial/administrative support during budget preparations.
* Participate in quarterly and annual audits to maintain compliance.
* Ensure all financial documentation meets regulatory standards.
What you'll need to succeed
* Right-to-work in the UK with experience working in a UK finance function.
* Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
* Organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain relationships with different organisational divisions, and with key stakeholders.
* Advanced MS Excel skills.
What you'll get in return
* You will earn a salary of £26,500 - £32,000 per annum, pension, private healthcare, 25 days annual leave + BH's and discretionary bonus scheme.
