Description Wood Process & Energy is recruiting for a Construction Scheduler to strengthen the project team for a large capex project for the chemical industry. You will be based at the client site based in Dalry on a 12 month contract. You will have a proven track record in project scheduling and risk management, particularly within large, complex industrial projects. In this role, you will be responsible for parts of the design of a complex process plant for a chemical product. Responsibilities Strategic Project Scheduling: Develop and oversee detailed project schedules utilising Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines. Advanced Float Analysis: Identify and illustrate the float (Total Float and Free Float) of individual workstreams to highlight critical tasks and dependencies, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timeline management. Comprehensive Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments, including the application of Monte-Carlo simulations and other advanced risk-based methodologies, to evaluate potential delays and their impacts on the project schedule. Collaborative Leadership: Lead and collaborate with a team of experts, including Design Managers, Construction Managers, and other key stakeholders, to evaluate risks and develop mitigation strategies. Impact Assessment and Mitigation: Within one week of identifying potential delays, perform detailed impact assessments on the overall project schedule and propose effective mitigation strategies to keep the project on track. Executive Reporting: Prepare and present detailed progress reports, risk assessments, and impact analyses to the Project Director and other senior stakeholders, ensuring clear and actionable insights. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain meticulous records of all schedule changes, risk assessments, and analytical processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. Qualifications Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) are highly desirable. Extensive Experience in a senior scheduling role within the chemical or related heavy industries. Expertise in Scheduling Software: Primavera P6 and familiarity with risk analysis tools such as Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) or similar platforms. Advanced Risk Management: Deep understanding of and experience with Monte-Carlo simulations and other advanced risk assessment methodologies. Superior Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to senior management and stakeholders. Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset, capable of identifying potential issues and developing effective solutions in a timely manner. Leadership and Team Collaboration: Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration, and driving project success.
