Role Description
We are actively seeking candidates at the Assistant Planner / Senior Planner / Planner level to support project delivery across our existing and growing client base in our Birmingham office where we have a particular specialism in residential and commercial / employment schemes both through strategic land promotion and planning application management.
Whilst based in Birmingham the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience over a number of sectors on projects throughout the business. We manage the business and resource projects on a sector basis across our five offices, providing our teams with the opportunity to grow their professional experience across the UK through involvement in projects led in London, Bristol, Manchester Reading and Birmingham. A willingness and enthusiasm to engage and get involved across these geographies will be important.

Responsibilities and Requirements
* Conducting planning activities as directed by the project co-ordinator.
* The ability to write clearly and concisely and to develop arguments in written form
* Developing technical knowledge in the field of town planning.
* Day-to-day management of time.
* Working on projects with a view to meeting agreed client requirements and deadlines..
* Client contact as required in support of senior colleagues.
* An appreciation of budgetary constraints imposed on projects/instructions and to work effectively within the constraints of the instruction.
* Achieved or working towards achieving professional membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
* Contributing to own continuing professional development through attendance at appropriate training courses and internal CPD sessions and wider reading.
* Developing and understanding an appreciation of project management and interdisciplinary working arrangements.
Skills and Qualifications
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team
