The head office is based in Kent and offers a hybrid working pattern, but for the right candidate, a fully remote arrangement can be accommodated. The Interim Rent Accountant's key responsibilities will include: Managing rent charge accounts for a portfolio of properties, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Handling rent reconciliations, including preparing and posting journal entries to the nominal ledger. Ensuring all rental income is properly allocated to tenant accounts to prevent outstanding balances. Processing direct debit payments and liaising with housing benefits regarding payment allocations. Conducting cash reconciliations related to rental income and updating accounts accordingly. The Interim Rent Accountant will have: Experience in processing rent charges and reconciling rental income is essential. A strong understanding of rent statements and how rental income is allocated. Proficiency in journal postings, particularly related to rent reconciliations. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently within a structured financial environment. Competency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) for financial data management is essential.
