We are looking for a MATERNITY COVER receptionist/admin to join our well-established, friendly team on a 1-year contract. If the candidate's performance is excellent during the cover period, they may have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position in the practice after a year.
You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure while providing outstanding customer service to our patient population, work as part of a team, and, in accordance with practice protocols, ensuring we continue to deliver an efficient service.
Working Pattern: 25-30 hours per week, on a rota shift system covering the hours between 08:00 am and 18:30 pm, Monday-Friday. It will be a mix of both AM and PM shifts.
Main duties of the job
Duties will involve assisting patients both face-to-face and over the telephone; booking appointments, sending letters, processing prescriptions, scanning, data entry, processing post, liaising with local pharmacies, GP Practices, and other Health Care Services.
The ideal candidate MUST have the following essential skills/attributes:
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Professional "can do" attitude
* Good IT skills and preferably experience of SystmOne
* Be flexible to cover holidays and sickness

Job responsibilities
The purpose of the role is to:
* Offer general assistance to the practice team
* Project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
* Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way
* Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice
* Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies
