The post holder will act as the first point of contact for our patient attending the Diabetes Centre.
The post holder will support the provision of the highest quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support and continuous improvement.
The post holder will ensure high levels of patient care and will ensure clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focused and knowledgeable point of contact.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a person with excellent administrative and communication skills and a flexible approach to work.
You should be a strong team player with the ability to work in a calm and methodical way whilst being able to multitask in a busy environment.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Good general education with GCSE or equivalent in English at grade C or above
Desirable criteria
2. NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Care of equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
3. Experience of dealing with the public, both on the telephone and in person
4. Computer literate, with experience of using a keyboard
Desirable criteria
5. Previous NHS experience
6. Experience of using a Patient Administration System
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
7. Good IT skills including Microsoft packages
8. Confidence to handle difficult conversations with patients, relatives and carers
9. Excellent communication skills
Desirable criteria
10. Referral to treatment pathway (RTT) knowledge
11. Knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes
