This role is for our new venture. We are taking over The Old Cross in Blairgowrie and hope to find a chef to cater for our guests. It is a small 4 bedroom hotel, with a bar & small 30 seat restaurant.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced chef to join our team. You will have the opportunity to influence our menu, which will feature reasonably priced but excellent tasting dishes. We aim to keep the menu simplified, with the majority of dishes to be prepped in advance for quick service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Menu Creation: Work collaboratively with management to design or contribute to the menu. If you have your own culinary ideas, we're eager to incorporate them into our offerings.
2. Stock Management: Oversee inventory to ensure we are well-stocked for service, managing orders and minimising waste.
3. Service Management: Capable of handling service for up to 30 people during peak times, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
4. Team Leadership: Direct and coordinate with the kitchen assistant during busy hours to maintain smooth operations.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in a similar role or environment.
2. Excellent culinary skills with an ability to prepare both classic and inventive dishes.
3. Strong organisational skills for managing kitchen operations, including stock control.
4. Good communication skills to work effectively with staff and management.
5. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
