An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop and deliver prehabilitation and rehabilitation pathways across Barnsley and help thousands of patients across South Yorkshire.
Active Together is a prehabilitation and rehabilitation service supporting people following a cancer diagnosis with physical activity, nutrition, and wellbeing guidance. The service has been designed by Sheffield Hallam University who work in close collaboration with NHS teams to support the delivery and evaluation of the service.
The Active Together service launched in Sheffield in 2022 and is currently expanding to new sites across South Yorkshire in Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster. Active Together South Yorkshire will provide equitable, multi-modal and personalised prehabilitation and rehabilitation support that meets the needs of patients across the region and generates evidence for a commissioned service.
Barnsley Hospital Foundation Trust and Barnsley Premier Leisure are working in partnership to deliver this programme to the population of Barnsley.
Active Together is funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research, Yorkshires independent cancer charity, working so more people can live longer, healthier lives, free from cancer.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Psychologist you'll apply psychological knowledge, theory and practice to support psychological assessment, interventions and clinical advice on psychological aspects of disease for selected high risk patients. This may include a combination of face to face, virtual, group based and one to one support.
The Provider will support the wider Active Together team to be psychologically informed and appropriately trained in the provision psychological advice and support for low to moderate risk patients.
Participate as a senior clinician in the development of high quality, responsive and accessible services. This will include advising both service and professional management about what psychological and/or organisational matters need addressing.
Exercise responsibility for systematic governance of psychological practice with the services.

Qualifications
Essential
* Undergraduate Degree in Psychology that meets the standards of accreditation of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
* Registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accreditation as a Chartered Psychologist of the BPS.
* Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
* Doctoral level training in clinical psychology including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology, as accredited by the British Psychological Society
* Significant Post qualification experience in a Setting relevant to the post
Desirable
* Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis
