About this opportunity
A Library Outreach Project Officer promotes library services and resources to new and existing users, through community engagement and events, and manages outreach projects. Reporting to the Library & Customer Manager and supporting the work of the Library Development Officer, Library Outreach Project Officers work as a team across Westmorland and Furness.
Key Responsibilities:
Actively engage with the community to raise awareness of library resources, programs, and services.
Plan, implement, and evaluate outreach initiatives to reach diverse audiences, including those who may not traditionally use libraries
Build relationships with community organisations, schools, and other relevant groups to foster partnerships and collaborations.
Work with library staff, community partners, and other stakeholders to organise and deliver library-related events, workshops, and programs in libraries and community settings.
Manage specific outreach projects, including planning funding bids, budgeting and reporting
Recruit and supervise volunteers involved in outreach activities
Who we are looking for…
Ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and build relationships.
Experience in planning, organising, and executing events and programs.
Ability to manage projects from start to finish
Experience in engaging with community organisations and building partnerships.
Knowledge of library collections, programs, and services.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel throughout Westmorland and Furness
