Our client is seeking to recruit a Bookkeeper who has expert knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT, and basic accounting skills, together with a high level of IT skills, particularly on Sage, Xero, and Excel, which are vital for data analysis. You will have direct contact with your own clients both through email and phone, and therefore excellent spoken and written English is imperative.
Job role:
1. Maintain bookkeeping records for a variety of clients.
2. Review bookkeeping data and complete VAT returns for allocated clients.
3. Work on-site if required to update clients' records.
4. Direct client involvement - working with clients to solve queries and provide recommendations.
5. Assist accountants with preparation of reports and reconciliations.
6. Management reporting.
Salary/Benefits:

6. Role either full-time or part-time (3 days+) full days.
Requirements:
1. 5+ years experience working on/for a variety of different companies.
2. Good knowledge of bookkeeping packages including Xero, Receipt Bank, and Sage.
3. Advanced knowledge of Excel and data analysis techniques.
4. Sound knowledge of complex reconciliations such as CIS and VAT.
5. Knowledge of Brexit/European VAT aspects such as import, exports, reverse charge, and distance selling rules.
6. Superb written and spoken English.
7. Must be highly enthusiastic and self-motivated, able to work as part of a team or independently.
