Protocol Education is looking for enthusiatic people to join the team and support young learners across Bristol and North Somerset. The roles we would be looking to fill are learning support and teaching assistants, plus 1:1 support for some of our students with additional needs with a special focus on literacy difficulties. This would require someone who is compassionate, adaptable and forthcoming in attitude. You do not need to be a qualified teacher for this role.
About the role:
1. Manage and support the behaviour of pupils with additional needs within a classroom environment
2. De-escalate any behavioural concerns during lessons in an appropriate manner and in accordance to safeguarding specifications
3. Be prepared and confident in supporting the students with their learning and additional requirements
4. Have a non-judgemental approach to students and their learning abilities
5. Awareness of safeguarding practices and the importance of effective pastoral care.
The candidate will:
6. Be enthusiastic and proactive in their attitude to the role
7. Have a comprehensive understanding of literacy difficulties, such as Dyslexia, and the challenges it can present
8. Have an excellent understanding of English and phonics to support the students
9. Have a consistent and objective approach to pupils both in and outside of the classroom
10. Be passionate about educating young people and instilling confidence in students' abilities in lessons
11. Knowledge and awareness of SEN needs and any implemented academic adjustments
12. Have a proven track record in similar roles or institutions and the right to work in the UK.
