Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Valuation Reporting Manager to lead the valuation and reporting function in Cardiff, ensuring the accurate delivery of portfolio valuations and client reports. The role involves managing a team, overseeing reconciliations, and handling complex financial instruments such as derivatives (swaps, repos, futures/forwards, options etc). The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and process improvements within the valuation and reporting framework.
What you'll be doing:
* Managing the team providing daily management, coaching and guidance to your direct reports. Provide inspirational leadership and management, on an individual and team basis, using your extensive experience to motivate and coach the team.
* Building strong relationships with key stakeholder managers and data/information owners. Ensuring regular meetings take place to discuss client(s), processes, improvements, and share best practices and manage internal and external supplier relationships including SLA/service monitoring.
* Promoting a procedural and control mind-set to ensure tasks and controls are consistently documented and reflected to allow top rate accuracy, quality and timeliness of regulatory reporting and data provided whilst mitigating risk.
* Overseeing the production and review of client and valuation reports, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across all reporting deliverables and that all tasks are sent within SLA.
* Acting as the key escalation point for reporting and valuations issues, liaising with custodians, external valuation agents or internal stakeholders.
* Helping assist on the production of audit packs and spearhead projects to improve the process. Work closely with the wider client reporting teams to ensure reporting meets client requirements and service level agreements (SLAs).
* Maintaining strong data governance processes, ensuring accuracy and integrity of valuation and reporting data. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate reporting processes, improving efficiency, and reducing operational risk.

* Prior experience of acting in a supervisory role capacity.
* Strong understanding of portfolio valuation principles and financial reporting requirements.
* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
* Professional qualification (e.g., CFA, IMC, ACCA, CIPM) preferred.
* Experience with reporting tools and financial data systems (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, SQL, Power BI, Vermilion) is an advantage.
* Proficient IT skills, primarily with MS Excel and PowerPoint.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proactive and proven to work on your own initiative.
