Level 3 Transport Planning Technician Apprentice Salary - £24,146 Hours - 37 Contract type - full time/fixed term (36 months) We have a new and exciting opportunity within the Black Country Transport Team for two Transport Planning Technician apprentices. This is an excellent position for someone who has an interest in transportation strategies, solutions and the development of transport infrastructure, sustainability and mobility. At BCT you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of highway, active travel, and public transport projects that will be used by residents and visitors in Black Country and beyond. Further information on the apprenticeship can be found in the link(s) below: Transport planning technician / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education Transport Planning Apprenticeship Course | Level 3 BTEC Diploma About the Team: There is an expectation that the Apprentice will be working with the Black Country Partners across their various offices and locations in the Black Country as the various projects dictate. In addition, there is also an expectation that some time will need to be spent working with transport officers and managers at Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), who are based in Birmingham. Black Country Transport brings together transport officers from the four Black Country local authorities of Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, and Wolverhampton with a central team of officers to project manage cross boundary transport projects across the region. Working collaboratively, they assist local authorities achieve a consistency of provision of effective transport improvements. The Black Country team provide a focus across the Black Country helping to strengthen the Black Country position within the West Midlands context, creating a long-term pipeline and additional resource. They will make the Black Country a strong proposition for investment and obtaining funding for projects. They will support the achievement of safe, reliable, and affordable decarbonised transport connections for everyone that will be healthy, sustainable, and efficient across the Black Country. The course is delivered through Leeds College of Building and will require the role holder to attend residential learning in Leeds for two weeks blocks, three times a year as well as a week induction.
