Overview
We are currently seeking an Assistant Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services to meet our business needs.
Responsibilities
1. Material scheduling and placing of material orders, ensuring timely delivery to site.
2. Controlling the hire and off hire of plant, ensuring appropriate rent or buy calculations made when considering the hiring of plant & equipment.
3. Producing material enquiries and cost comparisons.
4. Producing weekly plant reports and site order reports.
5. Controlling the location and movement of owned plant.
6. Maintaining appropriate procurement schedules.
7. Attend project team meetings and advise on all relevant issues.
8. Involvement as required by the Company.
9. Necessary site visits to monitor these duties.
10. Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Experience
The successful candidate should possess:
* Experience working with Purchasing software
* Knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes
* Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers
* Previous experience within the construction industry an advantage
