British Sugar is a home-grown success story and one of the most efficient and competitive beet processers in the world. Around 3,500 farmers based in East Anglia and the East Midlands supply our four advanced manufacturing sites with eight million tonnes of sugar beet every year. We, in turn, make this in to over 1 million tonnes of sugar, serving customers across the UK, Ireland and increasingly growing commercially in the EU and world sugar markets.
Salary
£49,100 to £60,500 pa
Job Purpose
Reporting to the site Project and Portfolio Manager you will be an integral member of the team engaging with key stakeholders and customers to develop and deliver key design deliverables. Working closely with both the operational team and wider British Sugar team you will play an important role in assisting the project team develop and review all possible solutions to the projects being undertaken.
Your Core Accountabilities
Take ownership of agreed tasks / drawings and ensure that the associated time, quality and integrity is robust and delivered against required project construction and execution timelines.
Assist in appointing appropriate external contractors for additional draughting support when required and manage for the lifecycle of the project ensuring delivery against their obligations.
P&IDs - up to date management and production as required for operations.
Provide support with planning applications.
Provide up to date cable database management and issue of unique numbering to contractors and internal requests.
Distributed Control System (DCS) loop sheets to be produced and managed in accordance with DCS team requirements.
Update and maintain all electrical infrastructure drawings.
Update and maintain all present & future mechanical drawings.
Maintain Motor Control Centre (MCC) drawings throughout site including cubicle modifications and correct labelling.
Responsible for the management of archive drawings and project close out drawing packages.
Production of basic pipework Isometrics.
Production of General Arrangement Layout Drawings
Liaison with engineering support to allocate correct Maintenance Management System identification and technical information.
Lead by example in role-modelling the British Sugar Values.
Be a positive team player on-site.
Management of external contractors.
Support the development of the site Draughtsperson Apprentice.
Critical Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
Ability to adapt and amend existing electrical and mechanical drawings.
Knowledge of industry standards
Knowledge of and competence in Computer Aided Design (CAD) Systems (AutoCad Essential)
Strong IT skills
Good communication skills
Ability to organise and prioritise.
