Housing and Maintenance Team Leader (E6110) - Staying Put

We are looking for a Housing and Maintenance Team Leader to support and manage our refuges and portfolio of dispersed properties across Keighley and Bradford.
Staying Put are part of Bradford Survive and Thrive, an exciting and innovative multi-agency partnership bringing together 3 organisations, Family Action, Staying Put and Women Centre, who are working together to develop a ‘one system approach’ to families affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.
About the role
As the Housing & Maintenance Team Leader, you will work across the Accommodation Service, to support the team in providing the best possible experience to individuals and families who have become homeless, as a result of domestic abuse and sexual violence, and are living in our temporary supported accommodation. This involves leading and supporting your team to meet Health & Safety Standards and Housing compliance and ensuring our refuges and dispersed properties are of a high quality standard, comfortable and safe for all.
You will work with a trauma informed and solution focused approach, using your skills and experience to work with individuals to help support them to maintain their tenancies. You will develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support individuals and families to feel empowered and in moving on towards independence.
Full time - 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Starting at £32,000 per annum.
About you
We are looking for someone who has experience of housing and building management and of working with vulnerable people ideally in a housing context. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have a professional and friendly approach. Our ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, demonstrate resilience and be able to work under pressure to prioritise work to meet goals and achieve positive outcomes for our clients.
You will have a strong working knowledge of the current housing benefit system, managing and preventing void losses, tenancy management such as property turnarounds and repairs management as well as knowledge around health and safety legislation and processes.
We are looking for someone who has experience at managing, developing and motivating a team. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities. As this role involves travelling to various sites and properties across the area, you will have a flexible approach to your work with access to a vehicle for business use.
This is a great opportunity to join a team of skilled Accommodation IDVA’s and Support Workers who you will support with the day to day management of tenancies with line management responsibilities of 2 handypersons and 2 refuge-based housekeepers.
