A bit about me:
We are looking for a part-time carer with extensive experience working with disabled children. Our 9-year-old daughter has a very rare neurological condition and suffers from epilepsy. She is a friendly, delightful girl who enjoys music and quiet walks. She is non-verbal but very relational and curious about new people. She is also very sensitive and sometimes needs emotional reassurance and comforting.
About the role:
Our daughter needs to be spoon-fed and has some mobility but requires complete assistance in dressing, changing position, and other daily activities. She is home-schooled, and part of her care includes some therapeutic and educational activities to aid her development. We will explain more about what this entails during the application/interview.
The kind of person I am looking for:
Must be confident and experienced in working with disabilities and epilepsy. Able to act efficiently and calmly in an emergency and call 999 if necessary. A naturally warm and caring person who understands the importance of bonding and attachment. Responsible, reliable, and trustworthy with excellent timekeeping. Good communication and social skills are essential. Willing to learn and able to work on your own initiative.
