Education
* Essential criteria:
* Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
* Member of CSP
* Desirable criteria:
* Clinical Educator Qualification
* Leadership qualification
* Evidence of Post graduate training in Mental Health
Experience
* Essential criteria:
* Relevant clinical experience working as a Physiotherapist.
* Experience of working within mental health services.
* The ability to work autonomously and set own priorities in a demanding environment.
* Experience of effective team working.
* Experience of delivering group and individual exercise.
* Desirable criteria:
* Experience working at a Band 6 level.
* Experience of evidence-based practice.
* Experience of service improvement.
Knowledge
* Essential criteria:
* A broad knowledge of current best practice for Physiotherapy in Mental Health.
* An understanding of a range of Mental Health conditions and their presenting symptoms and behaviour and their management.
* Knowledge of falls prevention strategies.
* Knowledge of team dynamics and the ability to work effectively in the Physiotherapy team and with other disciplines.
* Knowledge of current legislation and national guidelines relating to Health and Social care.
* Knowledge of equality and diversity legislation and anti-discriminatory practice.
* Knowledge of safeguarding legislation for vulnerable adults and children.
* Knowledge of Clinical Governance.
* Desirable criteria:
* A comprehensive understanding of specialist assessment tools and interventions available for the Physiotherapist to use in the Mental Health setting.
Skills
* Essential criteria:
* Be able to reflect and critically appraise own performance.
* Have effective written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills, including the ability to process complex and sensitive information.
* Be able to manage own workload and determine priorities and recognise when to delegate.
* Be able to plan and coordinate treatment packages for service users with complex needs.

* Be able to participate in training sessions within the service.
* Be able to undertake the PMVA Enhanced Physical Training and annual updates in accordance with Trust Training Needs Analysis.

* There is an occasional requirement to travel across the wider footprint of the Trust to attend meetings and events relevant to the role.
