The History of Springfield Nursery
Anna and Richard first opened the doors to Springfield Nursery in September 2002 after successfully being awarded a DEFRA Diversification Grant. Since then they have continually developed their setting to become the nursery it is today.
With Anna’s qualification in childcare (NNEB) and working on the local children’s ward, the natural progression seemed to be opening a children’s nursery of their own.
Bringing up a young family on a working farm with the freedom, fresh air and space, they realised that this experience would be a great model for their nursery giving other children the chance to share their lifestyle.
Anna and Richard continue to live in their family home onsite and have seen all six of their children and now their grandchildren flourish in Springfield Nursery’s unique setting.
Anna continues to manage the Nursery on a daily basis and Richard alongside his daughter and son-in-law manage the farm.
