You will be supporting 2 partners and the wide team. Our client is seeking applications from legal secretaries with commercial property experience ideally but other disciplines may be considered.\n\nBased in central Reading, with no parking, but close to the station.\n\nYour role as Commercial Property Legal Secretary:\n\nTyping, correcting and amending a variety of legal correspondence and documentation, high volume of typing.\nGeneral administration duties including, keeping case/client files up to date; creating new files; referencing; general filing.
Ensuring familiarity with lawyer's clients & cases.\nProfessionally answering internal and external telephone calls and efficient message taking.\nKeeps own and lawyers diaries up to date.\nBook meeting rooms as necessary.\nIn solicitors absence checks post/voice mail and email ensuring urgent matters are dealt with.\nProvides holiday/absence and pressure cover for other secretaries as needed.\nPrepare client bills for lawyer review and approval. May undertake chargeable work as directed by lawyer.\nIs familiar with and adheres to firm's policies and procedures.\nWilling to undertake all jobs to ensure smooth running of office\nAmending leases, contracts and reports. Collating documentation ready to send out to client.\nObtaining precedents from books or online\nLand Registry applications\nPrepare draft SDLT returns\nUndertaking billing monthly including preparation for narratives from the system, letters and emails\nManaging monthly reporting for major clients\nRegular updating of deeds bible for major clients The person:\n\nPrevious commercial property experience\nRSA stage 1 or 2; Min.
60wpm with min. 80% accuracy; Audio and copy typing skills\nGood written and spoken English; polite professional telephone skills;\nGood working knowledge of word\nSpecialist property legal experience and good general secretarial experience essential\nTeam player\nWell organised\nFlexible - willingness to work late if needed\nAble to work effectively under pressure / meet tight deadlines\nAble to adapt to new technologies and working methods\nPro-active and able to use initiative
