A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time experienced Legal Cashier to join our well-established and successful team, based at our Admin Centre in Brighouse.
The candidate must have at least 12 months’ experience as a Legal Cashier. We are ideally looking for full time but would consider part time for the right candidate working a minimum of 4 days per week, which must include Friday.
For applicants with sufficient experience, once established within the role there is scope for a limited amount of home working, but the role is predominantly office based.
Overview, required qualifications, skills and experience
* Legal cashier with at least 12 months’ experience
* Understanding of Solicitors SRA Account Rules
* Experience of working with a practice management system (Tikit would be beneficial but not essential), Microsoft Excel and online banking
* Demonstrate good organisation skills and ability to work within a team
* Has a strong attention to detail and is able to work effectively under pressure maintaining accuracy
* Being able to maintain confidentiality to our internal and external clients
* Willingness to undertake additional training as required
Main responsibilities
* Dealing with all day-to-day ledger postings to Client and Office accounts
* Daily Bank reconciliations
* Processing payments and transfers daily via an online banking system
* Working with fee earners to ensure matter balances are kept accurate and up to date
* Processing various Search Invoices
* Taking and reconciling credit/debit card transactions
* Processing Invoices and Credit Notes
* Stamp Duty payments
* Reconciling Legal Aid Claims and payment of disbursements
* Supporting the Legal Cashier Team Leader and Manager with general administration of accounts as and when required
* Compliance including auditing & breach logging
