1.To assist in the preparation of theatres and associated areas prior to surgery 2. To assist with the turnaround of theatres and associated areas between patients to maintain optimum patient flow and maximise use of all resources 3. To undertake inter-procedural and sessional cleaning of clinical areas and manage associated waste and equipment 4. To work as part as a multidisciplinary team daily, understand own workload and undertake requests received by trust staff. 5. To maintain clear and effective communication channels with team leaders, clinical and non-clinical staff. 6. Check, transport and change medical gasses, (and their associated equipment), using suitable transportation to and from the appropriate storage facilities. 7. To liaise with clinical/nonclinical staff with regards to specific patient interventions, ensuring patients are taken to the correct destination for investigation/treatment. 8. Assist clinical staff, transfer teams and escorts when requested with regards to moving patients, whilst using correct manual handling techniques and suitable equipment, ensuring equipment is regularly cleaned and maintained in accordance with health and safety and infection control. 9. Communicate, report, or escalate any issues or risks that will compromise an effective service to relevant people. 10. Maintain cleanliness and carry out general housekeeping of relevant areas within the department, ensure areas are kept clear of waste and accessibility is upheld. 11. To be assist in maintaining stock levels for all required items within the department 12. To support the implementation of quality initiatives within the hospital. 13. To undertake training for new equipment and service development as required. 14. To actively participate in departmental based continuing education, providing support for students visitors and new members of the team. 15. To work independently at times and as part of a team, to undertake daily routine tasks. 16. Ensure patient confidentiality is always maintained. Report any breaches of patient confidentiality immediately to the team leaders. 17. Where required, answer any telephone calls in a timely, polite manner, dealing with patient, relative and staff enquiries and seek advice from team members accordingly. 18. To be aware and comply with trust policies and procedures to include fire, COSHH and Health and Safety policies. 19. Work in an environment where there is occasional exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances including body odour, blood, minor and major trauma. 20. To attend in the event of a major incident alert and support other clinical/non clinical staff where required.
