Job Description
Job Overview: We are looking for a Service Engineer to join our team in Sheffield. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, repairing, and modifying electrical and welding equipment and circuitry, either in-house or at industrial and commercial premises.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week
Car Allowance: £450 per month
Locations: South Sheffield, North Chesterfield, Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Hucknall
Key Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to the Company Safety, Health, and Environment Policy at all times.
2. Service and repair plant machinery and associated products in-house or on-site.
3. Complete repairs and associated paperwork in accordance with the Company's Codes of Practice and its BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System.
4. Provide excellent customer service by responding swiftly to call-outs and performing high-quality work.
5. Perform regular electrical checks on calibration equipment to ensure products operate within set parameters.
6. Maintain adequate parts inventory in the workshop to ensure efficient repairs on all equipment.
7. Attend training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and working practices.
8. Complete daily work sheets and submit them to the Branch Manager.
9. Keep the workshop and company vehicle clean and tidy, reporting any damage immediately to the line manager.

1. Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
2. Good health and fitness, especially good eyesight.
3. Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required.
4. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
5. Understanding of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
6. Knowledge of engineering science and technology principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment design and production.
7. Strong customer service skills, including needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
8. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
9. Problem-solving skills to identify complex issues and evaluate options for solutions.
10. Ability to understand work-related documents and communicate information effectively.
11. Conduct tests and inspections to evaluate quality and performance.
12. Ability to concentrate on tasks over a period of time without distraction.
13. Flexibility to adapt to the operational needs of the Company.
14. Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of work surroundings, advising the Branch Manager of necessary repairs.
15. Effective listening, speaking, and time management skills.
