1×37 Learning Disability Social Worker
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Adult Social Care Learning Disability Team. The team works with adults and young living in Blackpool and provides direct support as well as commissioning specialist support from providers.
Working Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm & Fridays 9am – 4.30pm. Based at Blackpool Council Bickerstaffe Offices.
This role will be working and supporting adults and young people with learning disabilities completing Care Act Assessments and Care Act reviews. The role will be line managed by the Learning Disability Team Manager.
The team comprises of Adult Social Care staff, from Blackpool Council and NHS Health staff from Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed social worker. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, competent knowledge of the implementation of the Care Act 2014, experience of managing and leading on safeguarding, managing risk and care management.
We are looking for a social worker who has experience of working with adults who have a learning disability and their families, is passionate about learning disabilities, supporting service users, staff teams, collaborating with colleagues and partners. To be successful you will need to be an effective team player, excellent communicator and willing to use your energy, enthusiasm and experience to make valuable contributions to the team and people we support.
You must have:
1. A professional qualification in social work
2. Social Work England registration.
3. Enhanced DBS/Update service.
4. References required for the last 5 years of employment.
