Job Title: Inventory Manager Location: Bristol Reports To: Head of Low Care Department: Low Care Operations 6 month Fixed Term Contract Start Date: ASAP Job Summary: The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing stock inventory across ambient, chilled, and frozen ingredients, including off-site storage locations. This role ensures optimal stock levels, accuracy, and efficiency in inventory control while minimizing waste and costs. The Inventory Manager will collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to streamline stock management processes. Key Responsibilities: • Stock Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels for ambient, chilled, and frozen ingredients across all storage locations, including off-site facilities. • Inventory Control: Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to prevent stock discrepancies, loss, and wastage. • Stock Rotation & Quality Assurance: Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO & FEFO) and maintain product quality standards, particularly for perishable goods. • Data & Reporting: Track inventory movements, generate reports, and analyse • trends to optimize stock levels and reduce waste. • Supplier & Warehouse Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and warehouse teams to manage stock deliveries, storage, and distribution efficiently. • Compliance & Safety: Ensure inventory management adheres to food safety regulations, health and safety policies, and company guidelines. • System & Process Optimization: Utilize inventory management systems (ERP/WMS) to enhance stock tracking and streamline inventory processes. • Forecasting & Demand Planning: Work closely with procurement and sales teams to forecast demand and adjust stock levels accordingly. • Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities in stock management while maintaining efficiency and availability. Skills & Experience Required: • Experience: Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in food manufacturing, FMCG, or warehousing. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS, ERP) and Microsoft Excel. • Knowledge: Understanding of stock control principles, warehouse management, and supply chain logistics. • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail in stock accuracy. • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple stock categories across different temperature zones and locations. • Communication: Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with internal teams and external suppliers. • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing inventory needs and seasonal fluctuations in demand. Preferred Qualifications: • Degree or certification in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. • Experience handling perishable goods and cold chain logistics. • Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices in food safety and storage.
