Salary: £50,000 depending on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: Understanding and deploying quality process improvement techniques to ensure that continuous improvement is maintained within the BAE Systems Supply Chain Managing and taking responsibility for a portfolio of suppliers and all quality-related activities (QA, QC, Inspection) without daily supervision and can deputise for the Quality Manager when the need arises Highlighting any adverse trends, recommending, and initiating corrective actions to ensure effective closure Mentoring a small group of Quality professionals as and when required Your skills and experiences: HND/ equivalent qualification or experience within Engineering/Manufacturing Expert understanding of problem-solving Quality tools & techniques e.g. 5Whys, Ishikawa, 8D A good working knowledge of Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma/ Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) Previous experience within a Supplier Assurance Quality role Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Quality Management team: The role of the Quality Lead is to manage and develop the team to achieve a scope of work to ensure that the Business Unit remains compliant to the local Quality Business Management System. You will provide guidance and support to more junior members of the department and be able to carry out complex Quality activities in accordance with relevant processes and procedures.
