We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our friendly and supportive team of Practitioners as a trainee (Nurse, Paramedic or Physiotherapist) Practitioner within our Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) at our Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals.
You will be joining well established and progressive team of enthusiastic Emergency Practitioners that provide 24 hours a day cover to the Urgent Treatment Centre, ensuring the safe, efficient and timely flow of patients through both departments. In addition to our strong nursing team we have an excellent GP, Emergency Medicine Consultant, Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Clinical Support worker teams that work closely with us in providing a patient centred service.
As a Trainee Emergency Practitioner, you will receive internal and external training to become a competent, autonomous practitioner assessing and treating patients presenting to the Urgent Treatment Centres with minor injuries.
During your first year of this Trainee Post you will be paid as a Band 6 and be working in a supervised role growing your skills to become an autonomous practitioner. Once complete you will become a Band 7 Emergency Practitioner, who will provide assessments and management of patients in the UTC, with further opportunities to work towards an Advanced Practice role within UTC.

All successful applicants will be required to complete our corporate trust induction once a start date had been agreed.
Following your corporate induction you will be expected toattend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please emailmtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.netif this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
