Job Description Based: Maidenhead with hybrid working options Security Clearance: you must be able to obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance. The Programmes Team at Ultra I&C's Cyber business are keen to recruit a Head of Project Support Office (PSO). Role Purpose: The Head of PSO takes a leading role in enabling project and programme delivery in Ultra Cyber (UK) through the provision and management of project controls, reporting and project assurance. As Head of PSO you will ensure that the PSO acts as a Centre of Excellence for programmatic delivery, embedding a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that standards and policies are maintained and appropriate for both waterfall and agile delivery approaches. You will lead a team of up to 12 people, providing guidance, coaching and line management support to them, ensuring that they are focussed on the highest priority tasks and providing the right level of support across the business to help projects and programmes successfully deliver. Key Responsibilities: You will be responsible for: Ownership of Project Management processes, including the project reporting framework, performance management and analysis The design and management of Project/ Programme Management Governance approach PPM Standards for different delivery approaches, and assuring that project and programmes are meeting those standards Project Support, directly into projects The Resource allocation process and capacity management Management of strategic and aggregate risks across the portfolio of delivery Management and coordination of a lessons learned process and knowledge bank to drive improvement across the business Head of Discipline for PM Function, ensuring that there are clear training requirements, understanding of training needs across the Programmes Team, and allocation of people to projects as the needs of the business change Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Demonstrable experience of leading Project/Programme/Portfolio Office. Strong communication skills (written and oral), with the ability to manage relationships across the breadth of the organisation. Ability to lead a team, ensuring a clear focus on the customer (internal and external). Holds or can obtain a Project Management qualification (PMI, APM or global equivalent). Desirable for education of Bachelor’s degree level or higher. Highly ethical behaviour, instills trust and demonstrates and promotes Ultra’s values.
