The Purchasing Manager and their work are a pivotal part of the production process. Responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services for the company to meet the required price and lead-times whilst overseeing daily supply chain management and procurement activities, on a worldwide scale.
Strong negotiating, networking, maths and Microsoft Excel skills are essential whilst sustainability, risk management and ethical issues are advantageous. The Purchasing and supply chain process is essential to the overall success of the Alco Valves Group as a vast majority of the Company’s revenue is spent on procurement of raw materials, components and additional testing requirements hence, a real difference in cost saving and profit is made within the team.
Skill Set
1. Experience of the valve industry and raw materials are advantageous.
2. 3 years management experience.
3. Degree / CIPS qualified or equivalent in a business related subject.
4. Minimum 5 years previous experience in a Purchasing role.
5. Proven track record of controlling and reducing external spend whilst developing a robust supplier base.
6. Able to bring modern procurement processes & mindset.
7. High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum).
8. Full Driving License required.
9. Experience of working with MRP systems is essential.
10. Local to Brighouse area.
General Information
Please Note: The role is ideal for a motivated candidate with a desire to enhance his/her skills in a rapidly developing business. Overseas travel may be required as part of this role.

Working Hours
38.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday: 8.00am – 4.45pm – lunch 12.30 to 13.00 (or as required).
33 days annual leave made up of flexible, statutory and end of year shutdown holidays.
