Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Author to join their central audit governance team. The successful candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts in ITIL service management to develop and maintain high-quality, audit-ready documentation. This is a key role in ensuring internal and external audit findings are supported with clear, consistent, and compliant evidence of remediation.
This opportunity offers a hybrid working model, allowing for a mix of remote and on-site work. The role will be based in Birmingham.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with IT service management process owners and subject matter experts to create accurate and robust documentation supporting the closure of internal and external audit findings.
* Review supporting artefacts to ensure they are complete, consistent, and audit-ready.
* Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the audit documentation framework and supporting processes.
Skills:
* Proven experience producing formal IT documentation – such as policies, procedures, terms of reference, and senior management briefings – which can stand up to audit and regulatory scrutiny.
* Comfortable absorbing complex technical concepts and translating them into clear, well-structured written content tailored to non-technical audiences.
* Able to manage small documentation projects, balancing multiple priorities, adapting to shifting timelines, and working under pressure.
* A basic understanding of risk frameworks and banking regulations would be advantageous.
Benefits:
* Competitive salary with a non-contributory pension scheme.
* 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase more.
* Life Assurance and Private Healthcare (for employee and family).
* A comprehensive range of flexible benefits including retail discounts, Bike4Work scheme, and gym access.
* Hybrid working arrangements and two days of paid volunteering leave annually.
