Staddlestones Garage has been serving the Isle of Wight community for over 35 years offering exceptional customer service in vehicle sales and maintenance. We pride ourselves on our friendly team atmosphere and dedication to professional development. As a Business Administrator Apprentice, you’ll be a valued member of our team and contribute directly to our ongoing success.
The successful apprentice will play an essential part of our day-to-day operations, helping to ensure the smooth running of our business. You’ll work closely with various departments, gaining valuable hands-on experience and skills that will set you up for a successful career in business administration.
Tasks and Responsibilities will include:
1. Answering telephone calls and transferring them to the appropriate department, taking messages and forwarding them.
2. Handling customer enquiries via phone, email, and in person.
3. Filing, checking statements to invoices, posting of invoices onto computerised system.
4. Supporting the sales and service teams with administrative tasks.
5. Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
6. Assisting with invoicing, filing, and general office administration.
Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Personal Qualities and Essential Skills:
* Excellent communication, numeracy and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Pleasant telephone manner.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Qualifications Required:
GCSE grade C/4 or above in English & Maths (or equivalent qualification and/or ability to work towards these Functional Skills if not previously achieved).
Apprenticeship:
Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
Functional Skills in Maths and English if required.
There is a requirement to complete 6 hours per week of off the job training, this includes time spent either learning something new, other courses or any support work that is not in your usual role.
Working Week:
40 hours per week.
08:30 to 17:30 Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch.
Wage:
£6.40 per hour to begin with. This will be reviewed on a 6 monthly basis.
Once qualified and following on from apprenticeship completion, dependent on business needs at the time, there may be the potential to lead to permanent employment and progression to more accountancy focused roles.
Additional Information:
Apprenticeship duration will be around 18 to 24 months.
The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £6.40 per hour. This applies to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship.
