About the team:
REEs Research Office provides seamless, end to end support for all external tender, bid and grant applications. The Office is made up of individuals with expertise in costing bids, funders, ethics, contracts and compliance processes (such as Due Diligence). Together they support applicants, and if required draw on the appropriate skills and expertise from across the university to submit eligible and compliant successful grant applications. Once awarded the team supports the PI/Lead through the project set up process; following timely, appropriate financial and compliance protocols to ensure a smooth transition from a grant application into a live project.
About the role:
This new role will provide critical support to successful applicants, triaging all successful grants for contract, compliance and set-up requirements. Identifying the level of support needed, and if required supporting academics to select from suite of contract templates and facilitate discussions with partners. Monitoring the timely progression of all projects from award to start date, working closely with Pre Award, Contracts & Post Award Finance teams to do so.
With an understanding of sector-wide developments, the role will ensure UWE is compliant with any funder and regulatory requirements. Working across the university to ensure UWE is well positioned to meet these requirements though a common approach, one that is informed, scaled and supportive context.
It will manage the Due Diligence & Compliance Coordinator and Research Governance Officer to support activity in their areas of expertise; and with other REE and university colleagues working in these areas allied to this team.
About you
You will have experience of working in a similar area, such as contracts or regulatory compliance, in a research or Higher Education institution. With a strong eye for detail, and the ability to review and understand a broad range of complex documents. You will enjoy solving problems and supporting stakeholders through the identification, development and implementation of processes and process change, ensuring these are accessible and easy to use.
An excellent communicator, you will be able to explain complex situations, both verbally and in writing to a broad range of stakeholders, both internal and external. Using these skills to develop relationships, collaborate and influence- those you are working with, to ensure appropriate outcomes suitable for all involved.
