We have a fantastic opportunity available for an ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour) Officer to join our proactive Anti-Social Behaviour Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full time, permanent basis. As an ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour) Officer you will ensure efficient, effective and consistent resolution of ASB and Environmental Regulation case work, identifying information needed to carry out an investigation and actions needed to resolve the case. Within this role you will show a visible presence in ASB hotspots and places where ASB has been reported to reassure the public. Wokingham has a clear ambition that services should be locally focused and responsive to the needs of residents and business. As part of this we provide a 7-day a week service addressing statutory anti-social behaviour. Solving statutory ASB and providing visible public reassurance, this 7-day a week service involves weekend, bank holiday and evening shift work, for which an additional allowance of £5,555 p.a. on top of base salary. Speak to and liaise with members of the public to persuade them to change their behaviour Conduct investigations, surveys and surveillances aimed at detecting non-compliance with legislation. Enforce legislation in relation to anti-social behaviour, take evidence, prepare reports and attend court, where necessary, in particular in relation to complex cases Drive and assist in the education of members of the public, to include production of publicity materials or events. Maintain social media communications, promoting responsible behaviour. Candidate Requirements: Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be a subject matter expert and pivotal in delivering a quality service and a high level of performance. You will have a proven track record of problem solving, achieving high levels of compliance and customer satisfaction, with excellent people and communication skills Basic working knowledge of the legislative frameworks surrounding ASB and Environmental Regulation Ability to work out of hours when required Ability to work in challenging environments Full UK Driving license and use of car.
