We have an exciting opportunity available for a motivated and experienced Engagement and Communications Officer, to join us here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full-time, permanent basis. You will help us have meaningful conversations with all residents – not just those who shout the loudest. This role could be suitable if you have experience of running good consultation or engagement projects, however, not essential. You will need to be a good communicator, able to produce copy and content that attracts people to our consultations, and you will need to come up with innovative ways to get people involved. The role will help run a Community Panel to make sure we get the views of an independent and representative group of people. They will also plan and run consultation and engagement projects on specific issues – where the emphasis will be on making sure a wide range of people and communities give their views. The role is within our Communications, Engagement and Marketing team and so will also involve supporting with our media relations and social media content creation – in particular where it is linked to consultation and engagement.
