Data Science and clinical intelligence are revolutionising healthcare, offering opportunities for continuous clinical improvement as well as more personalised care. In this senior role, you will lead on the design, delivery, and continued improvement of our data management platform and services.
As weseek to improve clinical quality through digital solutions, we’ll look to your expertisein designing and developingdata solutions, with a particular focus on cloud and web-based data platforming.
You will also lead on the specification and development of datasets,processes and data governance, ensuring we deliver a first-class service to the Trust.

While a background in the NHS is welcome, this is also an opportunity for specialists from other backgrounds to challenge their expertise within the acute healthcare sector. Along with advanced technical and analytical skills, experience of designing and delivering large, enterprise-wide relational
modelling and analytical solutions is critical. Knowledge of SQL, ETL, modelling, data science, and visualisations platforms is essential.
Playing key role in planning, design & delivery of Trust data management architecture, products & services, providing innovative solutions to drive improvements in clinical services and patient care.
Candidates with extensive experience in design & delivery of large enterprise-wide data lakes/data warehousing. Candidates will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Cloud-based platforms and services. Extensive use of range of database technologies and methodologies.
Play role in shaping services provided by Data Engineering team, leading on planning & development of necessary architecture, tools, and resources to handle high variety, volume, and velocity data. Post holder will ensure effective communication of recommendations across the leadership structure.
Post-holder to lead specification & development of diverse datasets, models, and dashboarding to deliver first class, comprehensive and proactive service. Post holder to ensure integrity & governance of data.
Proactively provide advice and guidance on data ingestion, orchestration, modelling, data mining, visualisation, Cloud services, statistical algorithms & data quantitative techniques including development of unstructured health related data.
Post holder will provide assessments, recommendations, and planning on use of emerging Cloud and cognitive/data science technologies. Follow methodology and approach for developing and managing data science projects and advanced analytics in the Trust.

Joining the digital service puts you at the heart of the Trust’s digital enablement journey. The implementation of the Hive Electronic Patients Record (EPR), powered by EPIC, in September 2022, which was the biggest of its kind in the UK at that time, was the first step in realising the MFT vision of a ‘Digital First’ organisation and significantly increases the Trust’s capability to unleash the power of data, through its ability to capture high quality/volume acute clinical and non-clinical services data and to exploit this data to catalyse digital transformation and support improved patient care.
