Senior Theatre Nurse/ODP - Practice Educator

You will be delivering exceptional standards of clinical care to our surgical patients and have the opportunity to broaden your experience by managing a stimulating case mix.
The Role
You will cover both the Woodland and our new day case Hospital, Glendon Wood. Your role will be to deliver theatre-specific training, assessment and support for Registered Nurses, Operating Department Practitioners and Assistant Theatre Practitioners to maintain a skilled and competent workforce. You will also mentor and support the Student Nurses, Student Operating Department Practitioners and any other Learners in the department. The role is clinical and your day-to-day duties will be to work alongside staff and students in the clinical environment, building and developing our workforce whilst promoting good practice and excellent patient care.
You will also be required to maintain training logs, competency spreadsheets and produce welcome packs for all theatre staff. Additionally, you will work one day a week clinically as part of the numbers to support the department and maintain your own clinical competencies in all specialties.
What you will bring with you
* NMC/HCPC registration with no restrictions or conditions
* Experience in a senior role within Theatre is preferred
* Competence in all three areas of the Perioperative environment would be desirable
* Experience training/mentoring is essential
* Surgical First Assist Qualification (SFA) would be desirable, but not essential
* Flexible and positive attitude
* A warm, considerate and empathetic character
* Good communication, IT skills and the ability to work independently is essential
