In a nutshell
Join us as a Network Operations Specialist, where you will be supporting the Network Operations Duty Manager with operational control and oversight of flying programme including flight watch. Additionally you will lead the continuous improvement of delay coding and disruption reporting.
You will be a part of the Operations Control Centre (OCC) team responsible for supporting the operations teams to pro-actively manage the Virgin Atlantic fleet and dynamically monitor the flying programme to deliver a safe and compliant operation aligned to our operational and customer ambitions.
Accurately logging and updating operational events in real time, providing necessary documentation and support to front line operational teams and stakeholders internally and externally.
Day to day
* Ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of Virgin Atlantic's flying programme, including supporting Network Operations Duty Managers with the tactical management, control, and planning across the operational planning window.
* Primary coordination and point of contact for operational teams across the network including sharing operational updates and relevant information across the business. In addition to escalating issues as required.
* Ensuring operational control and recovery management of the programme in the event of disruption - suggesting ideas and options to support recovery plan. Whilst maintaining continuous global flight and weather watch in line with company policy, to proactively manage, and where possible to mitigate, operational risk or disruption.
* Supporting, and where necessary assist or brief, the flight crew of VAA aircraft with specific information relating to operational control, in the interest of flight safety and operational integrity.
* Investigating and accurately record flight delays across the global network, in line with the company mission to drive continuous improvement of On Time Performance (OTP).
* Support continuous improvement initiatives including event reviews, review and enhancement of OCC procedures.
About you
Ideally you will have a technical understanding of multiple disciplines involved in aircraft operations and a good understanding of multiple IT applications used in Operations (full IT training will be provided). Along with effective communication skills and emphasis on team collaboration.
