A Bit About The Role We are leading the delivery and coordination of a new England-wide programme called Planning Together for Children. A facilitated programme in 2 stages, which enables groups of Parents and Carers develop tools such as good communication and co-parenting when family relationships breakdown. This has been commissioned by Cafcass (Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service) on behalf of the Ministry of Justice. Planning Together for Children works with other partners across England, to deliver these courses - a set of resources for parents developed by the Tavistock combines a mixture of self-directed e-learning and online group work. Referrals are made by the Courts, or via Family Court advisors and all sessions are online unless a participant needs extra support to complete. This programme builds on the work of the previous Separated Parents Information Programme (SPIP). Around 24,000 parents were referred to the SPIP course every year and the feedback from both Parents and Children, has been used to develop the new programme. How You'll Help To Create Brighter Futures We are looking for a Family Support Practitioner who will deliver and facilitate peer support sessions virtually, manage sensitive and at times emotive conversations within a group setting/learning environment, while promoting positive outcomes for children and families. What you will be doing: Deliver a program content to groups of adults in a virtual setting – maximum of 6 attend. Facilitate peer support sessions for parents at this stage 2 stage, virtually /online. Implement a solution-focused approach to achieve positive results for participants, moving participants away from conflict, to co-parenting. Able to deliver a set learning toolkit to group; facilitate and guide sessions. Prioritise the wishes and feelings of Children - keep Children and their welfare at the centre of the programme and discussions; a move away from parental/family conflict, wishes, behaviour, feelings and views to prioritising the Children. Work collaboratively with colleagues, our partners and team to deliver this program. Empower families with information and skills to navigate various challenges, enable them develop tools and learning from the course, so they can make positive changes in their behaviour, their language, their views, and feelings towards their situation and each other. Let's Talk About You. Level 4 Certificate in Education or an equivalent qualification (AET Award in Education and Training). Experience in working with Parents, Children and Families, in group, or one to one setting (face to face or virtually). Experience in facilitating peer support sessions, manging group workshops, co-production, facilitation, teaching or training. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures (Adults/Children and Young People). Strengths based and solution focused approach when working with groups. Tech Savvy with knowledge of IT packages such as SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook – confident in presenting and sharing information on-line/to different audiences. Ability to manage time, diary, and schedule; flexible and accountable. Great communication skills, emotionally intelligent; able to discuss and reflect on session activity with participants and peers; in preparation, during and after the courses are completed. Confident in their ability to adapt the course for all learning types, so accessible and inclusive – think on their feet and be creative – each session will be different Ability to speak an additional language would be advantageous (but not essential).
