A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join an independent practice in a bustling town in Somerset. Established in the area over 35 years ago, our client has been providing expert animal care ever since. Located in a forward-looking town, with its natural beauty, rich history, excellent education options, vibrant community, and convenient transport links, Somerset is an enticing destination for those looking to move. There is also great access to both the A303 and the M5.
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join their valued team. They ideally seek a vet with some experience. The work schedule includes a mixture of consults and operations, offering plenty of time to follow your interests and develop your skills with the support of an experienced team. Our client fully supports career development, and if you're looking to pursue a certificate, they are happy to invest in training and equipment.
The practice is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including digital x-ray, ultrasound with Doppler, and an in-house laboratory. The team is close-knit, relaxed, and friendly, fostering a supportive environment where everyone gets along and enjoys the day, no matter what challenges arise. Some team members have been with the practice for as many as 30 years, a testament to the positive work environment.
As an RCVS-approved nurse training practice, the team includes an amazing nursing team of 2 RVNs, 2 qualified nurses, and 1 SVN, led by a Head Nurse who has achieved a PgC in Veterinary Nursing Rehabilitation. This sociable team enjoys getting together over meals, a bottle of wine, or a night of bowling. They also make the most of the beautiful surrounding countryside, including the Quantock Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty, and Exmoor National Park, where you can spot wild ponies and red deer.
