This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and passionate educator to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN) by delivering engaging and inspiring lessons in expressive arts. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver Expressive Arts lessons that engage students with a range of learning needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges. Foster creativity and self-expression through a variety of art forms such as music, drama, dance, and visual arts. Adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring each student can access and enjoy the curriculum. Provide differentiated learning opportunities to ensure that all students can participate meaningfully and achieve success. Monitor and assess student progress, offering constructive feedback and celebrating individual achievements. Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to explore their creativity and build confidence. Work collaboratively with the SEN team and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students. Communicate with parents and carers to update them on student progress and foster positive relationships. The Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching Expressive Arts at primary or secondary level, with a strong passion for nurturing creativity in students. Experience or a keen interest in working with students with special educational needs, including those with autism, learning difficulties, or behavioural challenges. Ability to create engaging, flexible, and innovative lesson plans that are tailored to the individual learning needs of each student. A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals. A passion for developing the creative talents of students and supporting them in achieving their full potential.
