Job summary Reporting to the Associate Director of Communications and Engagement, this post holder will lead on the delivery of both internal and external communications and engagement activity by bringing specialist knowledge and skills to the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of communications channels and campaigns for the Somerset, Wiltshire, Avon & Gloucestershire (SWAG) Cancer Alliance, which is hosted by North Bristol NHS Trust. Cancer Alliances are unique. They are the primary vehicle for delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan ambitions for cancer and improvements in cancer performance. By collaborating across organisational boundaries, they put the patient at the heart of what we do. The role will ensure that all activity is consistent across all relevant channels - including media, stakeholders, social media, digital and physical platforms and events - and aligned to the priorities of the SWAG Cancer Alliance. They will be responsible for management and development of the communications and engagement activity across the whole organisation, working closely with colleagues at all levels including senior managers, executive directors and clinical leads. The post holder is hybrid working with a minimum of 40% office based within the SWAG Cancer Alliance geography, and will be required to travel across the South West. Main duties of the job With the support of the Associate Director of Communications and Engagement and Operational Manager of the SWAG Cancer Alliance, lead on the development and delivery of communications and engagement linked to the SWAG Cancer Alliance's Strategy. Help to maintain SWAG Cancer Alliance's corporate identity through use of the brand guidelines and ensure that these are correctly deployed through all communications. Ensure all communications support the SWAG Cancer Alliance culture, mission, vision and values and priorities and objectives. Review emerging/ new communications tools, techniques and development, reducing reliance on traditional media channels to ensure the SWAG Cancer Alliance is in line with best practice. Develop robust evaluation processes to understand the effectiveness of communications and engagement activities. Lead and deliver communications and engagement activity covering the full spectrum of communications including but not limited to internal communications, media relations, social media, marketing, public affairs, patient, public and stakeholder engagement and digital/ web based communications.
