Sports Graduate We are looking for a Sports Graduate within our PE department for the fixed period September 2025 to August 2026. The post will provide an ideal training and development opportunity for a graduate looking to progress into a sports or education related role. The successful candidate will have a degree-level qualification in a relevant subject, coaching experience and an interest in working within a school environment. The role will include assisting in the teaching of core PE and in the school's major games of rugby, hockey, netball or cricket and will play a full part in the life of the PE and Games Department. Key Responsibilities Coach and assist with PE lessons, games and co-curricular sporting activities throughout term time for pupils of all ages and abilities, across a wide variety of different sports and disciplines Referee/umpire, coach and/or assist in the smooth running of school fixtures Regularly input and maintain the schools data on fixtures and results Assist with fixture communications with parents Assist with fixtures on a weekend when required across the Trust schools Supervise sporting trips and tours when required Promote professional standards of punctuality, presentation, discipline and sportsmanship with all pupils, taking appropriate action where necessary Assist the Head of PE and Games with administrative tasks as required Assist in the development of resources and share best practices with colleagues Assist with the theory and practical elements of academic PE lessons Co-operate with the school in all matters concerning Health and Safety, following the School and PE department handbooks and support all of the Schools policies Assist in the upkeep of all sporting facilities and equipment Prepare equipment and team lists for away fixtures Ensure the safe set up of sports equipment and that areas are left in good condition Take a team in each term Regularly update schools social media channels throughout the term to celebrate sports in school. As a Sports Graduate you must Have an honours degree in a relevant subject Have experience in coaching or teaching sport to children Be proactive in your approach and able to seek new ways to be creative and inspire pupils to engage in sport Ability to build strong working relationships with pupils, other professionals and parents Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a range of audiences, such as pupils, colleagues and parents Excellent time management and organisational skills Ability to follow instructions, policies and procedures Remuneration The salary will be £17,048 (inclusive of holiday pay) for the 12 month fixed term contract, paid in twelve equal instalments.
