We are looking for an experienced Block Management/Service Charge Accountant to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the effective financial management of our property portfolio. You will be responsible for preparing service charge accounts, budgeting, reconciling expenditure, and liaising with property managers, leaseholders, and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and manage service charge budgets for multiple residential and commercial developments.
2. Produce year-end service charge accounts and liaise with auditors as required.
3. Monitor income and expenditure, ensuring financial compliance and efficiency.
4. Process service charge payments, reconciliations, and arrears management.
5. Work closely with property managers to ensure accurate financial reporting and budget planning.
6. Handle client queries related to service charges, invoicing, and leaseholder accounts.
7. Maintain accurate records in property management software.
8. Ensure compliance with RICS, ARMA, and leasehold regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in service charge accounting within a property/block management environment.
2. Strong knowledge of service charge regulations and leasehold accounting.
3. Proficiency in Qube accounting software is preferred.
4. Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
5. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts.
6. Good communication skills to liaise with property managers, leaseholders, and external stakeholders.
7. A relevant accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA).
