We recognise that reaching net zero gives the local authority an opportunity to explore and tackle fuel poverty and ensure a fair and just transition away from fossil fuels for everyone.
This is a new role which will help develop our programme from inception – including identification of target customers through data analysis, setting up referral systems, through to direct telephone and home visit support across Ashford in our rural and urban communities.
This role sits within our Climate and Energy Strategy Team and you will be responsible for supporting our residents to keep their homes warm, healthy and comfortable along with:
* Supporting residents to take control of their bills; save money and energy where possible, and access other appropriate services and grants available to them.
* Delivering a schedule of ‘in person’ contacts through home visits, telephone calls and community events for the most vulnerable residents.
* Identifying and highlighting potential risks within operational systems or processes.
* Keeping up to date with the Warm Homes Agenda, changes in energy advice, government assistance and the energy market through relevant news articles, training, or internal communications.
* Delivering general promotion of the project, including attending or presenting at events and workshops in the community both face to face and virtually.
* Writing update reports for Councillors and senior officers, including data monitoring information.
You will be a self-motivator with excellent organisational and communication skills who can support all our residents, particularly some of our more vulnerable. It is essential that you have previous experience in a project management role or experience managing small projects within a wider role along with having:
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role delivering excellent service.
* Excellent organisational skills and time management, working to deliver deadlines.
* Exceptional verbal communication skills.
* Strong written skills and record keeping.
* Ability to work on more than one project or referral at a time.
* Professional attitude and approach to work.
