Swindon is spearheading the award-winning PERIPrem (Perinatal Excellence to Reduce Injury in Premature Birth) quality improvement project, not just in the region but also nationally.
If you want to be part of this exciting Perinatal team, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as Band 6 Neonatal Nurse.
Main duties of the job
Numerous professional development opportunities exist for our Neonatal Nurses to develop skills in leadership in areas such as quality improvement, research, outreach, dedicated transitional care, family integrated care, BFI, palliative care/bereavement, education and training (we run 4 NLS courses a year in Swindon) and risk and governance.
About us
We are a local neonatal unit (LNU) within the south west ODN. We have 5000 deliveries per year with approximately 10% born prematurely.
We are part of the Maternity and Neonatal services umbrella and have a very close multidisciplinary working ethos with our midwifery and obstetric team.
Our STAR values are at the heart of everything we do. You can expect to see them in the way we act and the way we treat each other. Our values make us who we are:
* Service: We will put our patients first
* Teamwork: We will work together
* Ambition: We will aspire to provide the best service
* Respect: We will act with integrity
Job responsibilities
We are looking to recruit Neonatal Nurses who are enthusiastic, forward-thinking, compassionate, and caring to complement our ever-expanding innovative team.
Band 6 sisters run the unit on a day-to-day basis as a supernumerary shift coordinator.
