A company specialising in the manufacture of refrigeration equipment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to be responsible for carrying out maintenance, service and technical troubleshooting of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. The Field Service Engineer must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Service Engineer or completed an apprenticeship in a relevant engineering field. In addition, the Field Service Engineer will have C&G F-Gas 2079, Safe Handling of Ammonia certification, and good practical experience in mechanical and electrical aspects of refrigeration and air conditioning.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Service, maintenance, repair and commissioning of refrigerating, air conditioning and process plant.
2. Liaise with customers to ensure work is being carried out to their satisfaction and to identify future potential business.
3. Provide detailed technical reports on work carried out, or further work necessary to restore plant to optimum operating efficiency; correctly complete work reports/timesheets to enable invoices to be submitted with minimum delay; maintain regular contact with the service centre.
4. Carry out on-site equipment installation to acceptable standards and commission completed plants.
5. Perform on-site electrical and mechanical diagnostic checks.
6. On-site supervision as necessary of service engineers and apprentices.
7. On-site apprentice training.
8. Ensure that the Company’s technical and safety standards are maintained in accordance with Health & Safety Practices as outlined in the Company Health and Safety procedures and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.
9. Adhere to company policy of quality service standards.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications Required:
1. Minimum two years’ experience as a Service Engineer, or a completed apprenticeship.
2. C&G F-Gas 2079.
3. Safe Handling of Ammonia Certification.
4. Practical experience with all aspects of refrigeration and air conditioning, both mechanical and electrical.
5. Health and safety in the workplace awareness, including safe handling of refrigerants, including ammonia and hydrocarbons.
6. Flexible as will be required to work overtime and be on call out rota.
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 DOE
