About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a strong background in cover supervision to join our supportive team at a primary school in Cambridgeshire. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for education, who is ready to step into a key role in ensuring continuity of learning across all year groups.
As an HLTA, you will take on responsibility for supervising and delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher, supporting the pupils' learning in a calm and structured manner. You will work closely with teachers to ensure that the school's high standards are maintained and that pupils receive a consistent and positive educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage whole class lessons in the absence of the class teacher
Deliver pre-planned lessons and activities to ensure learning objectives are met
Support the needs of all pupils, including those with additional learning needs
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and ensure a positive learning environment
Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and any issues during the lesson
Assist in preparing and setting up learning materials for lessons and activities
Work with small groups or individuals to provide additional support when required
Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and strategiesAbout You:
Previous experience as a HLTA or in a similar role within a primary school
Demonstrable experience in cover supervision and managing classrooms in the absence of the class teacher
A sound understanding of the primary curriculum and educational standards
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain discipline
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach to working with children
A relevant qualification such as a Level 4 HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
